Meet Rashi Kapoor – A Beacon of Strength and Compassion
Rashi Kapoor is a passionate educator and courageous cancer survivor whose journey inspires hope and resilience. With a postgraduate degree in mathematics and over a decade of teaching experience, she transformed personal challenges into a powerful purpose. After surviving Synovial Sarcoma, Rashi founded the Sachin Sarcoma Society to support patients and families battling the rare cancer. Her unwavering spirit, selfless service, and belief that “service to humanity is service to God” make her a true symbol of Nari Shakti.

  • Rashi is a postgraduate in mathematics from Delhi University and has more than a decade of experience teaching in reputed schools in Delhi.
  • She has had her challenges with major illness, starting with molar pregnancy in 2012.
  • Thereafter she was diagnosed with a rare tumor (Synovial Sarcoma in her right knee) in 2016. She completed her treatment involving surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.
  • Rashi found her higher purpose in life post her treatment in 2017 and formed a sarcoma support group called Sachin Sarcoma Society (SSS) in association with other sarcoma survivors, patients, and caregivers.
  • As the president of SSS, Rashi, along with her team of volunteers, has been working selflessly and tirelessly to spread awareness about sarcoma and build companionship with sarcoma-affected families.
  • Life had more challenges in store for Rashi, and in 2023, she had an implant failure and had to undergo amputation of her right leg.
  • This, however, did not stop Rashi and her determination, and she only became stronger.
  • Rashi believes that service to humanity is service to God.
  • Rashi has received various accolades for her contribution to the society:
  • Women Change Maker of the Year in 2023
  • Best NGO by Indian Cancer Society in 2024
  • Nidar Humesha award in 2019 by Max Healthcare
  • Patient Advocacy Award for the work done by SSS in 2021
  • Sashakt Warrior Championship by Ovarian Cancer Foundation in 2020
  • Received SABERA Awards in 2023 and 2024 for the work done by SSS.
